Two heroic cops saved an unconscious woman during a two-alarm blaze in Queens on Monday, police said.
When Officers Greg Levine and Robert Quatterock arrived on the scene of the fire on 169th Street near 144th Avenue in Springfield Gardens, they peered into the window and spotted 50-year-old Lizette Guerra unconscious inside, cops said.
The brave pair then kicked the door open and dragged Guerra out, cops said. As they brought her outside, an FDNY lieutenant arrived with a Scott Air-Pak and gave Guerra oxygen, police said.
She regained consciousness, and EMS brought her to Nassau University Medical Center.
Three firefighters also sustained minor injuries during the blaze, which broke out at about 11:10 a.m. and was under control by 12:05 p.m., a fire department spokesman said. The firefighters were taken to North Shore University Hospital.
Twenty-five units – a total of 106 firefighters and EMS personnel — were on scene, according to the spokesman.
