MASPETH, Queens -- Police shot and wounded a burglary suspect in Queens Monday afternoon, authorities said in a press conference.
The New York Police Department said a woman also was wounded during the encounter. The woman was found nearby in her driveway with a laceration to her head, police say. They later discovered a piece of wire cable under her scalp.
The NYPD said the shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. at 66-33 Hull Ave. in the Maspeth section of Queens, where a woman using a remote home surveillance device called 911 to report seeing a burglar inside a home.
Both the woman and the man were transported to Elmhurst Hospital in Queens where they are listed in stable condition.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
