The estranged wife of the ex-con who shot Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo to death Friday is blaming the incident not on her spouse — but on a court system that she says freed him to kill.
In a lengthy Facebook post Saturday, Tia Rosales described how her hubby Manuel Rosales, was released on $1,000 cash bail in July on domestic violence charges, despite having mental health issues.
“If anyone is truly to blame for this tragedy, I blame Suffolk County District court and the judge who let him walk out of there knowing he was in mental distress, knowing he needed immediate psychiatric care,” she wrote. “Because of this GROSS negligence, two husbands and two fathers are lost.”
Rosales had been holed up in his wife’s Bronx home — along with a 3-year-old boy and a 13-year-old — when police responded to a report of a burglary there. He was confronted by Tuozzolo and NYPD Sgt. Emmanuel Kwo, who was also shot but managed to survive.
