Newly restored footage shortly after the collapse of the South Tower of the World Trade Centre on 9/11.
At around 9:00 you see an unidentified Ladder 154 firefighter. He survived the collapses as there were no LODD from that company on 9/11.
At 10:48 some units are seen on West Street preparing to enter the North Tower. Many would not survive.
Engine 5 would lose one member in the North Tower. Ladder 5 lost 8, also in the North Tower. Engine 1 lost two in the North Tower. Sadly, Ladder 3 lost their entire crew plus others for a total of 11. Rescue 1 lost 11 also. Ladder 20 lost 7.
at 11:20 you see Squad 18 getting ready to enter the North Tower. None of the 7 survived. I am not able to ID the FF at the officers side rear compartment, but if that is part of an F on the tail of his coat, it might be Andy Fredericks. Scary.
Engine 55, 4 lost.
To the right of 1 WTC is the Marriott, partially collapsed. The truck in the rubble is, I believe, Ten Truck, from Liberty Street, first due to WTC. One member was lost.
Ladder 105 had already lost 5 in the South Tower.
