SGT Wytasha Carter of the Birmingham Police Department was killed this morning confronting two car burglars. One suspect pulled a gun and opened fire, mortally wounding SGT Carter. An additional patrolman was struck and is still in the hospital with critical injuries.
SGT Carter’s life mattered. Rest easy SGT, we will hold the line from here.
